PCC responds following HMICFRS assigning Performance Level One to Cambridgeshire Constabulary

I welcome HMICFRS’s announcement that Cambridgeshire Constabulary has been assigned performance Level One by the policing inspectorate for the first time, as part of a drive to support improvements across policing and increase public confidence and accountability.

This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of officers, staff and volunteers across the force who are committed to keeping our communities safe.

Residents rightly expect an effective and responsive police service, and it is important that improvements made by the force are being recognised.

While this is good news, meeting ever-increasing demand, without significant investment into policing, will become increasingly more challenging.

As Police and Crime Commissioner I continue to do everything in my power to campaign for fairer funding for our county.
