Public engagement

The Commissioner is keen to engage with local people and partners in their communities on a regular basis.

His varied engagement programme ensures the public and partners can have their say on how their communities are policed. This includes:

• engagement days
• visits to charities, service providers and community organisations
• visits to schools and colleges
• engagement with local business forums to understand the specific issues that affect them
• 'walkabouts' with local councillors to understand local issues impacting on communities
• social media updates on his work 

This approach allows people to express their views in a way which is most convenient for them.
