Appointment of Independent Members
The Police and Crime Commissioner and Chief Constable are seeking two individuals with the highest level of integrity and accountability to join our Joint Audit Committee as Independent Members.
We want the people of Cambridgeshire to have confidence in their police force and to feel safe.
The Joint Audit Committee is an important, independent means of enhancing public trust and confidence in the governance of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and Cambridgeshire Constabulary. The purpose of the Committee is to ensure that appropriate risk controls and assurances are in place and to oversee all audit arrangements.
You will be a strategic thinker with the ability to analyse and interpret complex information and then challenge constructively. We are particularly looking for an individual with an accountancy background and a second individual with experience in governance and risk management. Knowledge of the challenges of local policing and Blue Light collaboration (i.e. emergency services working together) would also be an advantage.
The role may appeal to senior, experienced members of the non-executive community and to successful executives who are taking their early steps into the non-executive world – we welcome applications from both of these profiles.
Candidates are required to be over the age of 18 and be able to attend meetings online during the working day. The successful candidates will be subject to a police vetting check.
A taxable allowance of £1,500 per year is payable (currently under review).
The appointment is for a term of four years, with the potential for a 2nd four-year term.
