Senior Partnership Policy Officer

Closing Date: April 24th, 2022

Are you interested in a varied and challenging role at the heart of the criminal justice system in Cambridgeshire?  Are you able to understand the bigger picture and distil wide ranging information to inform senior decision makers?  Are you a self-starter who can use your initiative in delivering your own work, as well as working with and supporting others?  If so, then we need you to support work to tackle crime and keep our communities safe.

A vacancy has arisen for a new post in the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough supporting the delivery of the Commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan. The post will have a particular focus on criminal justice and community safety.  This will support the Commissioner’s statutory responsibilities for holding the Chief Constable to account, ensuring an effective and efficient criminal justice system, and supporting delivery of the Police and Crime Plan.

The role will be varied.  You will be using performance reporting to support the Commissioner in holding the Constabulary to account, as well as looking more broadly at criminal justice system performance.  You will also be working proactively with a range of colleagues to translate the Police and Crime Plan into action.

You will need to be comfortable balancing competing priorities, against a backdrop of complex change.  You will need to be able to translate detailed information against big picture context and local issues.  You also need to work professionally and effectively with local stakeholders.

You will be part of a small but supportive team who are splitting their time between working from home and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner based in Police Headquarters in Huntingdon.  You must be able to travel to the office, and around the county and elsewhere for meetings to meet business need.

The role is full time (37 hours), but flexible working arrangements will be considered.

If this sounds like a job for you and you would like a quick chat please contact Cristina Strood, Head of Policy, via: cambs-pcc@cambs.police.uk.

The deadline for applications is 24th April.  Interviews will take place at Police Headquarters in Huntingdon on 5th  May.
