Appointment of an Independent Chair and one Member
The Police and Crime Commissioner and Chief Constable are seeking an individual with the highest level of integrity and accountability to become a member of the Joint Audit Committee as an Independent Member.
We want the people of Cambridgeshire to have confidence in their police force and to feel safe. Performance is currently good with overall crime levels continuing to fall and detection rates steadily improving.
The Joint Audit Committee is an important, independent means of enhancing public trust and confidence in the governance of the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner and Cambridgeshire Constabulary. The purpose of the Committee is to ensure that appropriate risk controls and assurances are in place and to oversee all audit arrangements.
We require a Chair and one Independent Member.
The Chair is responsible for providing leadership to the Joint Audit Committee.
The Member will contribute to the development and effective discharge of the Terms of Reference of the committee.
For members – An allowance of £1,300 per year (based on 6 days a year) and expenses will be paid. Income tax and National Insurance will be deductible from all payments. The appointment term is for four years.
For the Chair – An allowance of £2,600 per year (for additional responsibilities and based on 6 days a year) and expenses will be paid. Income tax and National Insurance will be deductible from all payments. The appointment term is for four years.
