Cambridgeshire Acting Police & Crime Commissioner and Chief Constable – Member for Joint Audit Committee Appointment of an Independent Member

The Police and Crime Commissioner and Chief Constable are seeking an individual with the highest level of integrity and accountability to become a member of the Joint Audit Committee as an Independent Member.

We want the people of Cambridgeshire to have confidence in their police force and to feel safe.

The Joint Audit Committee is an important, independent means of enhancing public trust and confidence in the governance of the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner and Cambridgeshire Constabulary. The purpose of the Committee is to ensure that appropriate risk controls and assurances are in place and to oversee all audit arrangements.

We require one Independent Member.

The Member will contribute to the development and effective discharge of the Terms of Reference of the committee.

You will be a strategic thinker with the ability to analyse and interpret complex information and then challenge constructively. Experience of leading, conducting or reviewing audit activity is essential. Knowledge of the challenges of local policing and Blue Light collaboration (i.e. emergency services working together) would also be an advantage.

For members – An allowance of £1,500 per year (based on 6 days a year) and expenses will be paid. Income tax and National Insurance will be deductible from all payments. The appointment is for a term of four years.
