Sun, sirens and speed-guns
September 12th, 2016
Over 750 people came to the annual Ely Police Station family open day on a sizzling September Sunday.
All the emergency services were there for children (and adults) to climb all over a selection of vehicles including a fire engine, ambulance and police vehicles. Visitors could also chat to advisors about crime prevention and community safety.
As well as the vehicles on display visitors were able to take part in a speed gun challenge, measuring how fast they could run. Police and Crime Commissioner, Jason Ablewhite, was on hand with Deputy Commissioner Andy Coles to hand out crime reduction information.
Jason said: “What a great way to bring police and partner agencies together with the communities they serve. I would like to thank all those involved in making the day such a success and for all those who took the time to come and visit us.”
