The team is currently headed up by Chief Executive, Jim Haylett. Jim’s role is to advise the Commissioner and lead the team to support and advise the Commissioner in delivering all his statutory duties and responsibilities. He works with the Commissioner to enable delivery of their vision, strategy and identified objectives and facilitate appropriate scrutiny of the constabulary’s activities. He ensures the effective strategic and operational leadership of the team supporting the Commissioner. and holds the role of Monitoring Officer, with the remit to draw the Commissioner’s attention to any actual of possible contravention of law. The post is politically restricted.
