Police and Crime Commissioner’s Youth Fund

To continue the provision of funding for the Cambridgeshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s Youth Fund, managed by the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation, in 2016/17.
The Police and Crime Commissioner’s (“the Commissioner”) Finance Sub-Group (FSG) meeting on the 24th February 2016 considered and approved a report proposing the intended Grant recipients for 16/17 for Community Safety Grants and Victims Services Grants totalling £2.2m.
The Cambridgeshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s Youth Fund was created to support work with young people to divert them away from a life of crime. This is one of the Commissioner’s personal pledges, it is also part of work to continue to tackle crime and disorder which is Objective 3 within the Police and Crime Plan.
The grant of £40,000 has been raised through the sale of unclaimed and recovered stolen property in accordance with the Police Property Act 1997.
Cambridgeshire Community Foundation will manage the fund and assess potential applicants. Awards will be made in partnership with the Commissioner, the Chief Constable and the Head of Strategic Partnerships and Commissioning.
