Independent Custody Visiting Association Eastern Region Management Board

Decision

Extending the appointment of Hannah Watson, Volunteer Co-ordinator at the Office of the Cambridgeshire Police and Crime Commissioner, to continue to act as the Eastern Region Director on the Independent Custody Visiting Association (ICVA) Management Board for 2015/16.

Decision Summary

The Cambridgeshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s Business Coordination Board (“the Board”) meeting on the 26th November 2015 discussed (as part of Any Other Business) and agreed to Hannah Watson, OPCC Volunteer Co-ordinator continuing in the role as the Eastern Region Director on the ICVA Management Board based on the information discussed to them as set out below:

The ICVA is described as: “a voluntary organisation that promotes the custody visiting process nationally through advocacy, training, publicity and ongoing support to all involved in the process.   Ultimately, it aims to assist the Home Office, Police and Crime Commissioners and other interested bodies in the formulation of best practice for custody visiting schemes – increasing public awareness and understanding”.

 

Decisions about the policy and future aims and priorities of ICVA are made by the Management Board, representatives of which are appointed from each region in the Country. The Eastern Region comprises of representatives of the Offices of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.

 

Each Police and Crime Commissioner received a letter from ICVA dated                     9th November 2015 to appoint a Director from their region to the ICVA Management Board.

 

ICV Scheme Administrators from the region met on 14th October 2015 and agreed that Hannah Watson, Volunteer Co-ordinator at the Office of the Cambridgeshire Police and Crime Commissioner, should continue as the Eastern Region ICVA representative for 2015/16.
