Sec 22A for amendments to Joint Protective Services (JPS)

Decision

To sign the Sec 22A under the Police Act 1996 (as amended) to amend the collaboration agreement of Joint Protective Services function between the six corporations sole (the Chief Constables of Bedfordshire Police, Cambridgeshire Constabulary and Hertfordshire Constabulary and the Police and Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire Police, Cambridgeshire Constabulary and Hertfordshire Constabulary.

Decision Summary

The Joint Protective Services (JPS) Sec 22A agreement was updated and taken the Police and Crime Commissioners Business Coordination Board in June 2016. The Board approved the amended Sec 22A agreement

Since June 2016 a number of changes have been made to JPS which were approved by Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Joint Chief Officer Board in March 2020, and the Sec 22A agreement has been updated. Please refer to the briefing note below.

The Police and Crime Commissioner should sign the amended Section 22A Agreement under the Police Act 1996 (as amended) for Cambridgeshire Constabulary to agree to the updated Sec 22A agreement for the collaborated Joint Protective Services function with Bedfordshire Police and Hertfordshire Constabulary.
