Commissioner takes to the streets
August 8th, 2014
Cambridgeshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Sir Graham Bright, was in Cambridge’s market square this week chatting to the public and finding out about their views on policing and community safety.
Accompanied by officers from Cambridgeshire Constabulary, members of the public were able to speak directly to the Commissioner and local officers about any issues that concerned them.
Sir Graham said: “Meeting the public and asking for their views on crime and policing is one of the most interesting parts of my job. I found the public both surprised and delighted to find us so visible and available to talk to. I find the public very supportive of the Police and appreciative of the work they do. On the day, the most common concerns raised were around anti-social drinking, pushy beggars and cyclists riding on pedestrian pavements”.
This event is one of a series held in different towns and cities across the region.
